    Kelsey Barba - Pre-K and Kindergarten
     Kelsey Barba


    Miss. Barba has been a teacher at Sivells Bend ISD since 2019. She graduated from NCTC with an Associate’s Degree in 2015 then from TWU with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2017. Miss. Barba lives in Gainesville with her fiancé, daughter, and two step kids. She also has two dogs who are considered her “fur-children” as well. Miss. Barba loves shopping for home décor, watching movies, traveling, and being with family.


    Miss. Barba has always loved working with children. She is so excited to be working here and to be helping students become who they are by challenging, motivating, and directing them to reach their full potential.

    Rod Tipps - Teacher & Coach for Volleyball, Basketball & Track
    Mr. Tipps

    Mr. Tipps coaches the girls volleyball team and the boys and girls basketball teams.  He also coaches boys and girls track.

    Rod graduated High school from Ardmore, Oklahoma, class of 1992.  Go Tigers!  In 1992, he started his college years at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Again, Go Tigers!  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Education.  Rod started teaching school in McKinney Texas in 1999. He has also taught in Wylie, Texas.  He obtained a master's degree in School Administration in 2007.  

    Coach Tipps thinks of all the schools at which he has taught , Sivells Bend is the best.  He says, "Our students are great, our parents are supportive, and the community is wonderful."


    Cheryl Downey - 3rd, 4th, 5th Math, 3rd/4th Science, 3rd/4th, Social Studies



    Mrs. Downey’s has been a teacher at Sivells Bend ISD since 2012.  She was previously at Sanger ISD for three years where she taught Kindergarten and Third Grade. Mrs. Downey graduated from NCTC with an Associates Degree in 2005 and then from TWU with a Bachelors Degree in 2008.

    Mrs. Downey loves children! She enjoys teaching them new things and helping those who struggle. She has four children of her own.  Mrs. Downey is married and enjoys her close knit family.


    Mrs. Downey loves to read, draw and make crafty things. She is excited to be working here and loves being able to provide personal attention to each student that needs it.






    Jen Hoberer - 3rd/4th/5th Language Arts 1st/2nd Phonics

    Mrs. Hoberer has taught at Sivells Bend since 2016.  She graduated with honors from Our Lady if the Lake University of San Antonio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in 1996.  After the rush and noise of the city, she now immensely enjoys the quiet breeze of the countryside. 

     Mrs. Hoberer is passionate about teaching reading.  She is an avid reader herself and loves when a child hits that magical "I can really, truly read!" moment.  She has two sons, Brendan and Andy, and one daughter, Kayley.   Her husband, Darrell, can often be found at the school tinkering on the computers.  Mrs. Hoberer is honored to be a part of the Sivells Bend community.



     EvaWolfenbarger -  6th-8th ELA, 5th-8th Social Studies

    Mrs. Wolfenbarger graduated from Texas Woman's University in 2012. She has taught Reading and .Writing Literacy, Texas and US history since that time. Mrs. Wolfenbarger loves teaching and has alway felt it is her calling in life to help others grow and learn.Mrs. Wolfenbarger is thrilled to be with the Sivells Bend family.  She has 5 children and enjoys camping, hiking, and going on road trips with them any time they can get together.soon!
