Current forecasts indicate temperatures are not expected to rise above freezing until Tuesday afternoon, meaning travel routes are likely to remain unsafe throughout the morning and early afternoon hours.

Out of an abundance of caution for our Sivells Bend Warrior families, students, and staff, Sivells Bend ISD will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026.
Road conditions and temperatures will determine whether school can resume on Tuesday, January 27. We will reassess conditions Monday afternoon and initiate our notification process at that time.

Sivells Bend ISD will continue to closely monitor weather conditions throughout the week due to varying forecasts related to the upcoming winter storm. Any decision to delay the start of school, cancel classes, or release students early will be made with the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families as our top priority.
All weather-related decisions will be communicated in a timely manner through local and DFW-area media outlets, Sivells Bend ISD social media, and district notifications sent through our website/app-Rooms.
If inclement weather results in a change to the regular school day (early release, late start, or school closure), an official announcement will be released to the following radio and television stations: KGAF 92.3 FM, KGAF 1580 AM, WFAA Channel 8, FOX 4, and KXII 12 News. School updates and announcements are also posted on the district’s Facebook page.
This is a good time for families to review and update their contact information in ASCENDER Parent Portal to ensure they receive all important notifications.
