4-H Class - Learn, Grow, Eat & Go
The objective of the activity was to help the students understand that different plant-based foods contain nutrients that meet the needs of their bodies. The class was divided into 6 groups, each group was given ½ sheet of poster board, markers, and a Nutrients to Grow card. The groups had 20 minutes to create a poster and presentation about their assigned nutrients, which included protein, carbohydrates, fats, minerals, vitamins, and water. Each group had to convey to the audience what their nutrient does for us, and where it can be found. When they were finished, each group gave a presentation with every member of the group participating.
