SIVELLS BEND ISD 4-H 6th 7th 8th Grades Students engage in many Enrichment Activites through our7 4-H program. Today they learned about sewing machines, sewing on paper and seam allowance.

Warriors, Please welcome a new Warrior to our Tribe... Mr. Terry Whitehead is our new Bus Driver. Mr. Whitehead has about 10 years of experience driving school buses. Please introduce yourselves to Mr. Whitehead

Parents, Our Warriors will be coming home today, Thursday, 2/26, with a letter from the school detailing updates and introductions that affect every Warrior in our Tribe.
Sivells Bend Elementary experienced a 'hurdle' today. The internet fiber that is run from Ft. Worth to SBISD was 'cut' in / during a construction sight. This 'technological issue' caused our 3rd - 8th graders to postpone the STAAR Interim Assessment. We will restart on Friday, 2/27.
Additionally, the internet interruption also cut our phone system to receiving and placing 'outside' calls. When such an event occurs, Sivells Bend ISD uses a backup wifi / 'hotspot' to allow low internet usage for maintaining our internal phone system, enough internet strength to support the access controls to our exterior doors and gates and to ensure a direct-contact with emergency services. Students in grades 3rd thru 8th will take the STAAR Interim Assessments starting this week: 2/24 - 2 /26.
STAAR Interim assessments are subject-specific tests designed to mirror the format and expectations of the actual STAAR exam. They are shorter and broader in scope, helping gauge students’ understanding and their ability to apply learned skills. These assessments also help students become familiar with what to expect on the official STAAR tests.
We will dedicate three days to STAAR Interim testing while continuing regular classes throughout the day. Only one subject will be tested per day:
• Tuesday, 2/24 – Science (5th grade)
• Wednesday, 2/25 – Math (3rd–8th grades)
• Thursday, 2/26 – Reading/Language Arts (3rd–8th grades)

SIVELLS BEND ISD Losing More Teeth

Parents / Guardians, The Fold on Grand Ave. (our Gainesville Transfer bus stop location) will be redoing and expanding their parking lot tomorrow, Thursday 2/19, and Friday 2/20. This project may also extend to Monday, 2/23. We will confirm Monday’s status by this Friday. To ensure we can continue operating the Gainesville Transfer Route during this time, we will temporarily relocate the bus stop to the southeast corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot in Gainesville. This is the area closest to the Murphy convenience store. Wal-Mart has graciously given us permission to use this space. Please note: The school bus will not remain parked overnight at this location. The bus should arrive at approximately 6:30 a.m. Please park only in designated parking spaces to maintain normal traffic flow and allow the bus to park safely between rows. For safety and security, I am requesting that all parents/guardians escort their child to and from the bus door.
